All choirs meet on Tuesdays, 5:45- release. Two ways to sing with us:
1. CSYC Caroling & Recording Choirs are free and low-commitment ways to sample the engaging, fun, and high quality singing of City Singers! CSYCCaroling Choir joins the core choirs for caroling performances in December, and CSYC Recording Choir meets and performs in the spring. Learn more here.
2. CSYC Core Choirs meet weekly from September through May on Tuesday evenings 5:45-7:15/30 at 2709 Monument Ave (Richmond’s First Baptist Church). Singers are assigned by grade/age to one of three levels:
CSYC Elementary Choir for K-2nd grades with unchanged voices. Singing! Games! Rhythm! Rhymes! Fun meets music-making in this engaging and artistically rich setting, which prepares singers to participate in CSYC concerts and a lifetime of meaningful music making. Meets Sept-May, Tuesdays 6-7:15 at 2709 Monument Ave (Richmond’s First Baptist Church)
CSYC Progressing Choir for 3rd-6th grades with unchanged voices. Learn to ‘sing strong’ in a joyful and encouraging learning environment. Rounds, part songs, intermediate choral skills and more prepare singers to participate in CSYC concerts and a lifetime of meaningful music making.
CSYC Upper Choir for 7th-12th grade with unchanged and changed voices. Meets Sept-May, Tuesdays 6-7:30 at 2709 Monument Ave (Richmond’s First Baptist Church)
Interested singers who desire additional performance opportunities are assigned extra music just for them which they can perform in recital concerts as solos and in small groups. We will occasionally meet during regular Tuesday rehearsals.
